  11. This diskette contains release version 1.00 of the Diamond Stealth 32,
  12. ET4000/W32p display driver for OS/2 2.1.

  17.         INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR OS/2 V2.1 and OS/2 FOR WINDOWS
  18.  
  19.  
  20. NOTE:  Please make a backup copy of this diskette prior to installation of 
  21. these drivers.  Use the Diskcopy utility when a backup diskette is made.
  22. The Installation Diskette Volume Label must be OS-2.
  23.  
  24.  
  25. 1.      Boot real DOS and run the SETMODE utility.  Using the SETMODE 
  26.         utility, configure your Stealth 32 for use with your monitor.  If you 
  27.         have any questions about SETMODE, please consult your Stealth 32 
  28.         Users Manual.  DO NOT RUN SETMODE FROM A DOS SESSION UNDER OS/2!
  29.  
  30. 2.      Boot OS/2 (you must be using the VGA driver).  If you are not sure 
  31.         if you are using the VGA driver, please see page 336 of the OS/2 
  32.         manual, and follow the "Preparing to Switch to a Different Display 
  33.         Adapter" instructions.  Open the OS/2 SYSTEM folder, then COMMAND 
  34.         PROMPTS, and open either an OS/2 Windowed or Full-Screen command 
  35.         prompt.

  37. 3.      Insert the Stealth 32 OS/2 Installation diskette in your drive A 
  38.         or B.  Again, this disk must be labeled OS-2.
  39.

  41. |IF YOU HAVE A GATEWAY COMPUTER:

  43. |            A: [enter]
  44. |            GATEWAY A: C: [enter]
  45. |
  46. |            Where A: is the drive with the Stealth 32 Installation diskette,
  47. |            and C: is the drive where OS/2 is installed.
  48. |
  49. |            Now remove the Stealth 32 Installation diskette from drive A:,
  50. |            Shut Down your system, reboot your computer, follow 
  51. |            steps 2 and 3 again and continue with step 4 below.

  54. 4.      Change to the drive that your Stealth 32 install disk is in.  Then 
  55.         run the INSTALL utility, specifying the install disk's drive, and 
  56.         your OS/2 disk drive. for example:
  57.                 A: [enter]
  58.                 INSTALL A: C: [enter]
  59.         Where A: is the drive with the Stealth 32 Installation diskette,
  60.         and C: is the drive with OS/2 installed.
  61.  
  62. 5.      If the 'Help Not Available' message appears just click OK.  
  63.  
  64. 6.      The first screen will allow you to select Primary Display, or 
  65.         Secondary Display.  Click on Primary Display, then click OK.
  66.  
  67. 7.      The next screen allows you select the driver to install.  Stealth 32 
  68.         should already be highlighted, but click on it anyway.  Then click on 
  69.         OK.
  70.  
  71. 8.      The next screen will give you the option to install using defaults 
  72.         for monitor, or a display adapter utility program.  Select Install 
  73.         Using Display Adapter Utility Program.
  74.  
  75. 9.      The next screen will be the Utility Location Window.  Click on the 
  76.         Locate button.  A standard OS/2 file open window will appear.  The 
  77.         file you are looking for is the SETMODE.EXE utility. This is normally 
  78.         found in the C:\S32\UTIL\ directory.  Once you have located the file, 
  79.         click on OK.  This will return you to the Utility Location Window.  
  80.         The full path to the SETMODE.EXE utility will be displayed.  Click at 
  81.         the end of the line, then type a space, followed by the word MONITOR.  
  82.         It should look similar to the following: 
  83.         
  84.         C:\S32\UTIL\SETMODE.EXE MONITOR
  85.  
  86.         Now Click on OK. 
  87.         
  88. 10.     The screen should flash several times as it cycles through some mode 
  89.         changes.  A screen should then appear with a list of resolutions.  
  90.         Pick one of the resolutions supported by your Stealth 32, then
  91.         click OK.
  92.  
  93. 11.     There should now be a window prompting you for the drive where the 
  94.         Stealth 32 drivers are located. Make sure the Stealth 32 OS/2 driver 
  95.         disk is in the drive, then select that drive, and click OK.  the
  96.         necessary files will be copied over, and the necessary configuration 
  97.         files modified.
  98.  
  99. 12.     Once the files have been copied over, exit from the OS/2 command 
  100.         prompt, then shutdown OS/2 and reboot the system.  OS/2 should now 
  101.         come up in the resolution that you selected in step 10 above.

  108.                 WIN-OS2 FULL SCREEN REFRESH RATES
  109.  
  110. To set up WIN-OS2 Full screen refresh rates do the following:
  111.  
  112. 1.      Open the OS/2 System Editor. This is usually found in the 
  113.         OS/2 System Productivity folder, which can be found in the 
  114.         OS/2 System folder.     
  115.  
  116. 2.      Edit the Autoexec.bat file found in the root directory of your OS/2 
  117.         drive and add this line to the end of the autoexec.bat file.       
  118.         
  119.         C:\S32\UTIL\SETMODE.EXE MONITOR 
  120.         Where c is the drive that OS/2 is installed.
  121.  
  122. 3.      Shutdown and reboot.
  123.  
  124. NOTES:
  125. During the installation, if the install routine cannot find the driver disk,
  126. the volume label may not be correct. The correct volume label is: OS-2. To 
  127. label your diskette, open any command prompt and type: 
  128. label a:   [enter]
  129. OS-2       [enter]
  130. Where a is the drive containing the diskette to be labeled.
  131.  
  132. LIMITATIONS:
  133. These drivers will NOT work if you have installed the CSD (Corrective Service
  134. Diskettes).  This is a limitation of the Tseng ET4000w32p driver code. The 
  135. generic Tseng Et4000w32p drivers have this same limitation.  Tseng is working  
  136. on this issue.
